Findhorn Beach wins highest UK standards in MCS 2010 Good Beach Guide

Findhorn Beach has been awarded ‘Recommended‘ in the 2010 Marine Conservation Society Good Beach Guide.

This means that it satisfies the ‘Highest UK Standard for bathing water quality’.

‘Findhorn Bay is in a sheltered estuary noted for its birdlife, particularly migrating wildfowl. It is also much favoured for water sports and as a destination for coastal ramblers. The Local Nature Reserve is managed by local people.’

The great thing about Findhorn, is that it has many beaches:

Stony beaches to skim across the water,

Soft sandy beaches, with shallow still water on the Bay for small kids,

Sandy wavy beaches on the Firth, and best of all

Lovely grassy dunes to lie and laze in amongst the tall grasses, finding a cosy warm sunspot, or to play hide and seek in.

All these are within 3-10 minutes walk of Myrtle Cottage.

And they are empty!
